What we do
Supporting the children and young people's voluntary sector in Staffordshire to be safe, strong and sustainable.

Practical Support

SCVYS offers practical support to individuals and groups, which is bespoke and proactive, enabling the voluntary sector to be stronger, safer and more  sustainable. Our responsive support enhances the capability of groups to deliver quality services and activities to encourage the personal and social development of children, young people and families.

Membership

We work with more than 200 voluntary and community organisations throughout the 8 local authority areas of Staffordshire. Our members can access a variety of support, resources and other benefits.

Youth Engagement

SCVYS supports and encourages young people to participate in local, regional and national opportunities to ensure their voice is heard by decision makers.

Partnerships

SCVYS is a strategic partner for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector working with the local authority on several transformation projects designed to reduce high cost demand and build community capacity.

One example of partnership working is SCVYS hosting the Staffordshire Personal Social Health Economic (PSHE) Education Coordination Service. This service supports both formal and informal education settings with the quality and consistency of their PSHE offer and you can find out more on its standalone website here.

A voice for the sector

SCVYS is the County Council’s VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) Strategic Partner in relation to the  local Children, Young People and Families Sector. We represent local organisations who work with children, young people and families, seeking to influence the way services are delivered, creating opportunities for the sector to be involved and promoting them where they already are contributing. We also try to connect up the different parts of the local support system for children, young people and families through effective partnership working.
