Food Safety & Hygiene (Level 2)

This online course is suitable for anyone working in a role that involves the handling or preparation of food. You will learn:

  • The impact of food-borne illness
  • Understanding food law
  • Food safety hazards and contamination
  • Food preservation, storage and contamination control

                                                                                                                        Course duration:  Approx 2-3 hours learning

This is an online course that participants complete at their own convenience.

To request a log on for this training please email: office@staffscvys.org.uk and ensure you include the name of your organisation.

We can only provide two free log ins per member organisation, so please check with your line manager. If your organisation requires access to additional courses, please contact SCVYS on 01785 240378.

Introduction to Trauma Informed Practices delivered by Eagles Nest

This session is available FREE to staff and volunteers of SCVYS member organisations. If you are unsure if your organisation is a member of SCVYS please contact us on 01785 240378 or office@staffscvys.org.uk

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand the impact of early childhood trauma and adversity on the developing brain.
  • To be able to respond in a more trauma informed way when faced with challenging behaviour (fight/flight/freeze responses).
  • To have at least three strategies to take away and trial in your setting.

The training will be delivered on Zoom – you will receive the log in details the week before the course. The session will last around two hours with time for questions at the end.

Staffordshire Funding & Networking Event

This event provides a valuable opportunity for Staffordshire based VCSE organisations to: 

  • Chat to a range of local and national funders
  • Have a bespoke GrantFinder funding search carried out 
  • Collect hints and tips on completing future funding bids
  • Network with other VCSE groups
  • Drop in and catch up with your Development Worker
  • Find out about SCVYS current projects and opportunities.

                                                                                                                                    Who should attend?

Staff, trustees, committee members and volunteers who are involved in fundraising or want to know more about funding alternatives for their community groups and voluntary organisations.

We have found the funding events to be vital in terms of beginning the conversation with funders and shaping resulting bid submissions. We hope you will be able to join us!

The event is FREE to any charity or voluntary/community group operating in Staffordshire.

Light refreshments (cake) will be provided.
